Dear friends,
We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. By now, most of you know that we closed the bakery a few weeks ago. This has been another hard decision in our ministry. The decision was multifaceted but based mainly on a lack of finances and consuming work hours, leaving little time for anything outside the bakery. Transitioning to America has faced many challenges and left us with various questions. Had we not heard God correctly? Did our desires blind us? Have we lost our ability to do ministry? Our emotions are plentiful. This has been a time of frustration and grief. We are waiting on the Lord for much.
We are not allowing our challenges to cripple us with doubt, yet we are remaining open to the possibility that God is using these challenges to redirect our steps. While inspecting ourselves, seeking the Lord, and asking Him questions, we are reminded of His words in Isaiah 55:8-9: “My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8–9). We know the Lord is good and kind and that His purposes will prevail. As human beings, we will never stop making plans, but perhaps a lesson for us is to hold our plans lightly while trusting the Lord has a purpose despite ourselves.
Despite closing the bakery, The Harvest Project is still active, and several of you have chosen to continue giving during this time (Please note our address change below). Thank you. Thank you for the ways that you have loved us. Feel free to reach out to us for more details.
We look forward to sharing how the Lord works in our lives and directs our steps.
That All May Hear,
